Kin-Ho Lam

Hello and welcome to my website! My full name is pronounced /kIn/-Hoʊ Lăm 🔊. I usually go by my last name, 'Lam'. ✌️

I'm from Oregon 🌲. I hold a Bachelors of Computer Science (2019), and a Masters of Artificial Intelligence (2022) from Oregon State University 🦫. My graduate studies advisor was Professor Alan Fern.

I enjoy projects in AI research, AI engineering, and Devops/ML-ops. I'm currently pursuing interests in the computer vision domain, but I also enjoy tackling problems in RL. My hobbies include weight lifting, working on personal programming projects, 3D printing, flying drones, and playing video games.

Projects

Depth Sensing with Computer Vision and Lidar (2019)
For my university capstone project, I developed a multi-dimensional depth sensor by combining computer vision with a single-dimension lidar sensor. The final system incorporated a wooden jig, a pre-trained YOLO model, a 4K Logitech webcam, and an RPlidar A1 sensor.
Reinforcement Learning Experimental Domain (2020)
Our research explored explanation-informed acceptance testing of deep adaptive programs. I designed explanation-rich scenarios for research, managed a graduate-student team, coordinated, designed, and ran human-subject studies. The following is video of the game I designed for our research, a simplified version of Starcraft 2. Inspired by the popular mod "Nexus Wars", this experimental domain features an adversarial multi-agent dynamic, discrete action space, continuous state space, and a partially observable environment.
